Processes company's accounts payable records and assists the payroll department to maintain accurate payroll records, also assists with incoming client payments. Supports employees and managers for all aspects of accounts payable processes. This is an entry level role with great opportunities to learn many aspects of full cycle Accounts Payable. This position requires 25 to 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday. This is not a remote position and is in our Mississauga office. Hourly Rate of $19.00 per hour. Ideal position for a student.

Responsibilities

  • Reconciliation of vendor invoices
  • Develop and maintain successful working relationships with vendors
  • Generate Accounts Payable debit memos and adjustments
  • Match vendor credit memos
  • Research and resolve chargeback issues
  • Reconciliation of vendor statements and general ledger accounts
  • Collection of debit balance accounts and closure of discontinued vendor accounts minimizing any risk to the organization
  • Maintain Purchase Order System
  • Any additional, related functions assigned by department management
  • Assist Payroll Supervisor with the weekly audits in creating and analyzing the data

Education and Experience Requirements
• High school diploma/GED required;
• 1-2 years of accounts payable experience preferred
• JD Edwards/ Workday experience considered assets but not mandatory

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Attention to detail, and accurate computer entry are absolute musts for this position.
  • Able to effectively present information
  • Able to key 60 wpm or more
  • Able to do calculations such as discounts, interest, percentages etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong negotiation skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating effective time management skills.
  • Deadline oriented, multi-tasking is key
  • Proficiency with data entry, MS Outlook, Word and Excel, i.e. creating and formatting reports and spreadsheets
  • JD Ewards/Workday experience are a plus but not mandatory
