Join us for a 12 week paid internship at our R&D APAC HQ Hub right here in Christchurch. You'll join 25+ other interns for our 2024/2025 cohort, where we'll create the opportunity for you to socialise, team build and enjoy an off site visit to our test site.

In this role, you will be fully immersed in the field software content creation team, and will progress over the 3 month time period from familiarizing yourself with the content creation process, to participating in creating and producing different content types. Ultimately you may lead your own content development initiatives. You'll be involved in:
  • Writing clear, concise content for use across a variety of formats such as user help, learning materials, blog articles and social media posts.
  • Developing effective learning materials, including short videos, tutorials, and multimedia presentations.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to gather information and insights for content creation.
  • Describing software changes to existing customers in release notes.
  • Updating templates and internal procedures to contribute to our library of shared resources.
A successful internship will conclude with professional relationships within the Trimble Access content creation and product management teams, technical writing skills, and experience in a range of technologies to produce content such as video editing tools, software simulation software, and HTML and CSS.

What Skills and Experience You Should Bring
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in any field including the arts/cultural studies, social sciences, or communication or a level 5 or higher qualification in instructional design or similar
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with writing blogs or producing videos would be a bonus.
  • Good personal time management and organizational skills.
  • An ability to complete deadline-driven tasks.
  • An ability to grasp the big picture without losing sight of the detail
  • Interest and enthusiasm for creating content as well as new technologies and solutions.
  • A desire to work in a dynamic position to learn, ask questions, and grow professionally.

About Our Field Systems Team

This position will report directly to the Technical Writer for the Field Software team, focused predominantly on the Trimble Access surveying software. The team members you will work with are mostly located in Christchurch, New Zealand. Though this role is software focused, the team places a large emphasis on systems and workflow functionality- so the position will also regularly interact with GNSS, Optical, Scanning, and controller hardware products. geospatial.trimble.com
