Dynamics of the Role :
&bull In this critical role, you will develop and maintain associate network technologies like WIFI, wired LAN and VPN solutions. You will contribute to building and maintaining world-class network infrastructure by working with Software Defined datacenter networks, SDWAN, load balancing solutions and firewalls solutions. You will also be responsible for enriching TransUnion's internal user experience while accessing network resources. What You'll Bring:
The Team's Focus -
- The Workplace IT Services Engineering Team will focus on core services that support the TransUnion office locations for Associates, Contractors and Office Guests. Services include TU Wi-Fi and Guest access (WLAN), LAN, Remote Access, Load Balancing, Web Proxy/Access and Authentication. The workplace Engineering Team will work closely with a Core Architecture team that will help design, implement and maintain the core services with an emphasis on WLAN and LAN.
- As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and support of Transunion's LAN, WLAN and Remote Access network strategy. You will provide technical thought leadership for developing robust and secure user network.
- Collaborate with Architecture team and also operations teams to support the WLAN, LAN, SDWAN, VPN/Remote Access services. Assess existing local campus designs, implement global roadmaps approved by Architecture to standardize and implement campus networks.
- Adhere to and mature the best practices for the support and deployment of our infrastructure across the user network stack (routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, load balancing and DNS).
- Be a subject matter expert in reducing and resolving production incidents and act as an escalation point for level 2/level 3 operations teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with proven ability to develop creative solutions that simplify user network solutions. Work collaboratively across teams spanning multiple time zones
- Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and UNIX based knowledge
- 7+ years of progressive experience in VPN technologies (Cisco Any Connect and Zero Trust Network Access Solutions).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in Wireless LAN technologies Cisco Meraki, Meraki/Viptela SDWAN, Meraki/Cisco switching/routing/Aruba Wifi, Aruba NAC, Cisco/Palo Firewalls
- Design, implement, maintain and implement high-quality user-network infrastructure solutions that include WLAN, LAN, Remote Access and Web Proxy/Access
- Optimize and Implement Wireless LAN (WIFI) implementation by adjusting AP groups, RF settings, band steering, WLAN settings, etc. to improve WIFI connectivity for end-users.
- Manage and maintain WIFI security by ensuring adequate level of authentication standards, limiting user access and rogue detection and containment.
- Participate in analysis of new technology and product sets like zero-trust network and always-on VPN. Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design and implement solutions like zero-trust network and always-on VPN across the lifecycle.
- Design and maintain remote access solutions like VPN Solution and Zero Trust Network Solutions for all TransUnion campuses and offices globally.
- &bull Participate in investigating WLAN/LAN/Remote Access solutions and be a part of the team to roll out the solution globally.
- Collaborate with cyber security team on implementing 802.1x security on wired LAN network.
- Lead the design and implementation of user network hardening tasks.
- Execute multiple, large projects in a cross functional environment through DevOps and Agile project management methodology that includes providing formal turnover to operations teams for daily support functionality.
