Who we're looking for

Toyota's Vehicle Marketing and Communications Department is looking for a passionate, qualified, and highly motivated Vehicle Marketing Series Planning Analyst.

The primary responsibility of this role is to be the subject matter expert for a Toyota vehicle series.

Reporting to the series Vehicle Marketing and Communications Manager, the person in this role will support the Marketing department's objectives by creating and executing fully integrated marketing strategies for their responsible vehicle series, including cross-organizational alignment with internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop model and brand awareness strategies in all aspects of integrated marketing communications: i.e. advertising; production; traditional media; social media; digital marketing; content marketing; lead generation; reporting; measurement
  • Interface with agency teams and provide project management oversight for campaign and creative asset development, ensuring process milestones and budget requirements are achieved
  • Manage series vehicle prototypes, fleet and requests on an ongoing basis
  • Define target customer by conducting and coordinating analytical research and applying those findings to create tailored tactics and strategies that communicate clear and compelling brand messaging
  • Provide topline insights through analysis of internal data and market research to create compelling stories that drive strategic decisions
  • Demonstrate agility by using multiple data sources, finding data patterns, and extracting actionable insights both at the aggregate and segmented consumer levels
  • Integrate user research, market analysis, and interdepartmental feedback into product requirements to ensure products meet customer needs
  • Develop and manage detailed, product specifications documents used in the development of consumer-facing collateral materials, digital assets, quick reference guides and training materials
  • Maintain a continuous, 360-degree understanding of series features, specifications, customers, competitors, communication targets and segment dynamics
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis to support team objectives to include pricing, sales performance, and ROI analyses
  • Use social media, digital marketing and non-traditional marketing tactics to achieve objectives
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, manage stakeholder relationships, and navigate complex project dynamics to achieve organizational goals.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher)
  • In-depth knowledge of the automotive landscape, including Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid, and Battery Electric vehicles, along with a comprehensive understanding of their buyers and the overall automotive market landscape
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, consumer insights, product, corporate planning, advertising, sales and/or pricing.
  • Proven experience translating unstructured data into actionable insights for decision-making
  • Must be able to understand complex media plans, define and identify KPIs, tools and technologies and complete PDCA cycle for future campaigns
  • Thorough understanding of marketing metrics and analytics, proactive in analyzing performance and suggesting improvements, can apply strategic thinking, problem-solving, and hypothesis-driven data analysis
  • Proven experience as a project lead in a product strategy/marketing management work assignment
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with ability to manipulate and create pivot tables and functions for data-driven storytelling
  • Ability to build credibility and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Able to work well autonomously and as part of a cohesive team
  • The ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally

Added Bonus If You Have

  • MBA or advanced business degree
  • Experience in automotive-related industry
  • Automotive or high-tech marketing and product launch experience
  • Prior field experience in sales or related functions
  • Relevant experience applying prominent marketing strategy models for a large global brand
  • Familiarity with key market data sources (examples: Maritz NVCS & NVAS, PIN, Polk Insight, JD Power studies, GfK studies, Tableau, etc.)
  • Demonstrated competency to quickly learn and use these tools (i.e. key market data sources)
  • Experience in an environment where capable of both high-level strategic responsibilities and also tactical tasks such as report creation and data analysis
