Who we're looking for
Toyota's North Carolina Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Manufacturing Department is looking for passionate and highly motivated Manufacturing Manager.
The Primary responsibility of this role is to support the Manufacturing Department Senior Manager and meet all manufacturing Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, and HRD KPI's during initial pre-production through SOP and eventual transition into responsibility for stable production.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Senior Manager the person in this role will support the production department's objective to produce the highest quality product in the safest most efficient manner exceeding our customer's expectations.
What you'll be doing
- There is a strong expectation to promote and exemplify a safety-work culture
- Eliminate safety concerns identified via Ergo Vision and risk assessments
- Encourage a Safety-First Culture through chemical awareness and proper cell handling
- Promote contamination management through education and implementation of best practices to ensure compliance with Quality Standards
- The Manufacturing Manager will spend considerable time on the production floor overseeing the process, developing each team member's manufacturing capability, and problem-solving methodology
- The Manufacturing Manager is expected to be knowledgeable in manufacturing and have a strong focus on people development - providing leadership coaching and mentorship to all team members
- Establishing and managing a visual floor management system is key responsibility for this person.
- After starting production, the manager will meet production KPI's, visualize production status, and provide measurable & continual improvement as the shop owner
- Develop strong working relationships with floor & support groups to foster teamwork while solving project related issues
- Use reflection to identify and correct gaps in standards
What you bring
- Manufacturing management and supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to create and execute strategic direction
- Startup / launch experience
What you may bring
- Battery Manufacturing experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field
- Toyota Manufacturing work experience
- World class management system establishment in a work site / cost center
- Cross-functional work experience (Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance)
- Cross-functional collaboration (UTC, SOAR, etc.)
- 3 Pillar Management / execution experience
- Problem-solving ability (PDCA,RC/CM.TBP,DMAIC)
