Who we're looking for

Toyota's Body Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineering Analyst - Body.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and manage new model projects from all aspects of Body engineering in Toyota's North American Body Manufacturing Shops.

The person in this role will support the Body Production Engineering Department's objective to provide new model processes to the manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost.

What you'll be doing

  • Create project schedules and budgets for new and modified processes
  • Lead process development through process design, machine specification, equipment procurement and installation, safety risk assessments, dimensional accuracy investigations and process trials based on project milestones and events.
  • Manage the project to achieve KPIs
  • Execute onsite equipment modifications during non-production time (weekends, holidays, etc.)
  • Participate in team kaizen and organizational improvement activities
  • Interact with inside and outside groups (Body Manufacturing Pilot, Stamping PE, Plant Facilities, etc.) to divide responsibilities and resolve conflicts.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, other technical degree, or comparable education and experience is required.
  • Minimum of new graduate to 2 years of relevant work experience is required
  • Ability to work weekends, holiday periods, and shutdown to support tooling modification and installation projects
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support work at machine vendors, Toyota manufacturing locations and Japan, including ability for dispatch to another site for an extended period of time, up to 1 year or longer
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada

Added bonus if you have

  • Toyota Motors North America Body Production Engineering (Body PE) experience
  • North America Manufacturing Company (NAMC) Body PE experience
  • Direct working experience in a Toyota PE position outside of Body PE
  • Automotive manufacturing experience outside of Toyota
  • Automation experience including tooling/jig design, equipment procurement and installation
  • Experience with 2 or more Body PE functions (SE, Quality, Seibi, Carott, Robot Team, Innovation group). Direct assignment for 6 months or more.
  • Catia experience, including the ability to read, interpret and modify 3D drawings
  • AutoCAD experience, including the ability to read, interpret and modify 2D
