Who we're looking for:
The TFS Enterprise Tools team is seeking a highly motivated person to fill an opening as a Director Software Engineering - Enterprise Tools Frameworks, to help our growing Enterprise platforms needs. This position will lead a team of engineers responsible for delivering best in class application frameworks and tools as part of the enterprise tools engineering offering for our development teams
What you'll be doing
Leadership and Team Management:
- Build platforms that are used across by the company using Could native application in AWS Cloud using technology stack build using Java, Spring-framework, React, Python, NodeJS and REST technology stack.
- Build developer platform using containers, Kubernetes using best in class DevOps practices.
- Lead Generative-AI based software solutions for developers and customers using LLM based solutions.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members to ensure individual and team goals are met.
- Manage performance evaluations, career development, and succession planning for the team.
Technology Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for technology initiatives to deliver best in class application frameworks and tools.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technology solutions that enhance employee experience.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate our technology offerings.
Vendor Management and Partnerships:
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and drive value-added partnerships to support our technology initiatives.
What you bring
- Must have expertise as a software engineering leader with experience in designing and implementing modern 12 factor, application frameworks to promote reuse and cloud native business technology solutions.
- Must have knowledge of cloud platforms, advanced software architecture, design patterns & architecture, operations and software engineering.
- 10+ years hands on experience in building enterprise grade applications in Java, Spring-framework and UI applications using JSP.
- 10+ years of experience delivering highly scalable cloud native solutions utilizing programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, in AWS cloud using AWS services: ECS, ALBs, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Lamda, Event Bridge, Step functions and addressing application testing and application security and instrumentation.
- 10+ experience working with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines and best in class DevOps practices.
- Must have experience in React and Angular technology stack.
- Must have technical hands-on experience in following technologies: NodeJS, Python, REST API, and ReactJS.
- 8 years of experience in managing development team directly towards delivery.
- 5 years of experience with AWS SageMaker, and AWS Textract.
- 2 plus hands-on experience in developing and productionized GenAI application using agentic multi-turn chatbots, and human in the loop (feedback) mechanisms and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems.
- 2 plus year experience in Generative AI LLM model evaluation, model deployment, and model governance.
- Candidate must have practical experience with open source LLM & VLMs Llama, & Mistral, to build production applications.
- Must have experience building production grade mobile applications using React Native and deployed at global scale.
- Must have experience building applications that utilize the following database technologies Oracle, MongoDB, Redis/Elastic-Cache, and Cassandra.
- AWS solution architect associate certification.
- Master's degree in computer science.
