This position is based in Plano, TX with a hybrid mix of some in-office time and some remote work.

Who we're looking for:
The TFS Enterprise Tools team is seeking a highly motivated person to fill an opening as a Director Software Engineering - DevOps, to help our growing Enterprise platforms needs. This position will lead a team of engineers responsible for delivering best in class application frameworks and tools as part of the platform engineering offering for our development teams
What you'll be doing
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members to ensure individual and team goals are met.
- Manage performance evaluations, career development, and succession planning for the team.
Technology Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for technology initiatives to deliver best in class application frameworks and tools
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technology solutions that enhance employee experience.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate our technology offerings.
Vendor Management and Partnerships:
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and drive value-added partnerships to support our technology initiatives.
What you bring
- Deep expertise as a software engineering leader with experience in designing and implementing modern 12 factor, application frameworks to promote reuse and cloud native business technology solutions.
- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, advanced software design patterns & architecture, operations and software engineering.
- Solid technical foundation with relevant experience in Java, Springboot, NodeJS, REST API, Real time streaming architectures, microservices architecture patterns
- Proven track record of delivering scalable cloud native solutions addressing cross cutting concerns like logging, application testing and application security and instrumentation by utilizing programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, and a variety of AWS tools and services.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to move seamlessly between conversing with engineers or frontline ops employees and leading presentations with non-technical stakeholders.
- A passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code.
