Who we're looking for
Mazda's Mid-South Portfolio is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Area Sales Manager.
The primary responsibility of this role is to Drives MFS business by influencing the Dealer principal to recommend MFS loans, selling new insurance products, and managing the full sales cycle for wholesale loans. Conducts monthly business reviews with sales team and with dealer principal, business owner or responsible executive to understand business need, strategic goals, and performance for dealerships; uses tracking and analytics to monitor sales objectives against sales forecasts by dealer and by territory. Identifies and pursues opportunities from dealers, sales team members, etc. and serves as the "quarterback" coordinating internal MFS resources (e.g., Product Manager, Portfolio Sales Manager, credit, funding, wholesale departments) to meet dealer needs while trying to increase profitability. Plan dealer strategy with Product Manager and drive internal team execution of income development opportunities at dealers. Meets with dealerships to provide relevant MFS information on insurance products, loan promotions, and market share. Partners with Portfolio Sales Manager to determine go-to market strategy for dealers within territory; discusses progress during weekly check-ins with the Portfolio Sales Manager.
Reporting to the Portfolio Sales Manager, the person in this role will support Mazda Financial Mid-South Portfolio. The department's objective is to Grow the business across MFS' three product areas through existing business and potential opportunities (e.g., expanding market share, insurance products). Maintain existing business, leverage internal resources and expand business based on designated territory.
What you'll be doing
- Meeting with Mazda owners and executive managers in development of strategic marketing initiatives to drive business and improve customer loyalty with MFS.
- Increasing finance contract market share and contract volume annually.
- Increasing Vehicle Protection Product sales volume and product penetration annually.
- Ability to identify incremental business opportunity with assigned dealers and effectively position.
- TFS products and programs to generate additional volume.
- Ability to effectively implement new MFS processes and changes as introduced throughout the year.
- Providing effective dealer training, guidance, direction and support to achieve required objectives.
What you bring
- B.A./B.S. degree (or higher) or equivalent professional 4+ years of experience.
- Experience in a captive finance and/or insurance environment or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with ability to sell product/services to a targeted audience.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Strong public speaking/presentation skills and comfortable presenting at all levels of a targeted audience including senior management.
- Demonstrated effective leadership/sales skills.
- Automotive dealers contact experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that's acceptable by company standards is required for this position.
