About the team
TikTok Shop's Governance & Experience (GNE) team is a global team responsible for ensuring that our platform provides a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for our merchants, creators and community. Our mission is to provide world-class service and experience for customers, sellers and creators.
As a Global Response Policy Manager within GNE, you will play an impactful role in building and implementing global business-critical policies that enable TikTok Shop to keep our platform safe, secure and in compliance with local laws. You will manage global cross-functional external & internal policies in close partnership with Legal, Policy, Operations & Product teams to proactively mitigate legal, regulatory, reputational, safety and ecosystem risks to TikTok Shop. You will work with regional & local teams to effectively adapt and evolve global policies in consideration of country-specific trends & developments, while ensuring consistency and alignment with TikTok's mission and company principles. You will need to balance speed & quality, demonstrate innovation and the ability to drive measurable impact, as you bring together diverse groups to achieve business goals.

Responsibilities
- Lead & manage global cross-functional GNE policies, leveraging data-driven methodologies and policy expertise to identify & analyze risks, to synthesize business, technical, and regulatory requirements, and to deliver measurable impact.
- Articulate complex TikTok Shop policies and implementation strategies in a clear cohesive manner, aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders, across disciplines and diverse regions/work cultures, behind them.
- Drive global cross-functional teams towards effective implementation and iteration of key policies, and evolve policy principles & implementation mechanisms based on external & internal feedback.
- Create & maintain policy development plans and roadmaps in accordance with organizational priorities, define implementation methodologies, and drive continued policy iteration & performance measurement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to synchronize global TikTok Shop narratives & strategies to boost media and digital literacy efforts on- and off-app across issue verticals and develop success metrics to evaluate impact.
- Manage executive leadership communications and reporting, distilling critical updates on policy status, risks/issues, business impact, and recommendations
- Occasional travel to manage stakeholders and projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree with 5+ years experience in cross-functional policy management and strategic outreach, engagement or communication, preferably in e-commerce, online operations, trust & safety, consulting, business analytics, or intelligence research environments.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, thought leadership, and capacity to adapt & thrive in fast-paced work environments with rapidly shifting landscapes & priorities.
- Proven ability to own and be accountable for driving and overseeing multiple complex, cross-functional platform governance & user experience policies from initiation to delivery at scale.
- Strong communication background for technical and non-technical audiences and the ability to synthesize complex concepts into easily understandable narratives.to facilitate interactions with local/regional stakeholders.
- Experience solving cross-functional problems, analysing and translating data to make recommendations and to drive actionable business decisions. Data interpretation is required in this role.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in and/or demonstrable knowledge of e-commerce legal/regulatory/safety risk management, public relations, or public policy is highly preferred.
- Understanding of global & regional e-commerce regulations, and online content safety issues is a plus.
- Proficiency with SQL or Excel is a plus.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $139650 - $206 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

We cover 100% premium coverage for employee medical insurance, approximately 75% premium coverage for dependents and offer a Health Savings Account(HSA) with a company match. In addition to Flexible Spending Account(FSA) Options like Health Care, Limited Purpose and Dependent Care.

Our time off and leave plans are: 10 paid holidays per year plus 17 days of Paid Personal Time Off (PPTO) (prorated upon hire and increased by tenure) and 10 paid sick days per year as well as 12 weeks of paid Parental leave and 8 weeks of paid Supplemental Disability.
