About the Team
The Privacy Product QA team is a Quality and Automation team based in China, San Jose and Seattle. We collaborate closely with the Privacy product team on a daily basis to ensure the quality and efficiency of the entire workflow, spanning from Privacy Mobile Development to TikTok Mobile releases. Through meticulous testing, validation, and innovation, our team plays a pivotal role in shaping TikTok's reputation as a leader in privacy protection. We guarantee that every Privacy Product feature and functionality aligns with regulatory requirements, safeguarding user data with the utmost diligence. By leveraging automation tools and implementing rigorous testing protocols in the CICD pipeline, we continuously add test cycles and coverage efficiently and empower Tiktok users granular control over their data. Our goal is not only to meet but also to exceed user expectations, earning their trust and loyalty while setting a new industry standard for privacy excellence.
What You'll Do:
- Understand the product privacy framework in general, coordinate fast-changing, moving parts and get them to come together into a shared service testing strategy for a high-quality privacy infrastructure and platform on which we build an increasing number of products
- As a feature test owner, responsible for completion of feature testing including but not limited to: initial test planning, actual test execution and post deployment testing
- Perform online monitoring to triage , drive issue resolution time and assure confidentiality, security and stability of Tiktok Privacy Product.
- Deliver automated tests independently and work closely with product QA team to get rest of the system e2e tests to be automated on time
- Develop an in-depth grasp of the overall Tiktok Privacy Product life cycle, related processes, platforms and tools, and be able to drive feature team members to follow consistently
- Provide cross functional test support for other team members weekly
- Recommend process, testing methodology, and improve testing tools and framework
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 2+ years of testing experience from black box to white box
- 2+ years of experience with iOS/Android/React UI test automation or equivalent UI development experience
- 2+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines
- 2+ years of experience testing, operating, and delivering mobile applications or distributed cloud hosted software systems
Preferred Qualifications
- An experienced user of Tiktok or similar products
- Have privacy and security domain knowledge and a strong grasp of product privacy frameworks and extensive experience coordinating complex, fast-moving components to create comprehensive testing strategies
- Experience developing automation tools or frameworks from scratch using Blazemeter, Cypress, Jest, JMeter, Playwright, Puppeteer, Postman, Selenium etc
- Experience with program management tools (e.g., Jira or Asana) and methodologies (e.g., Scrum or Kanban).
- Effective communication, problem-solving skills, the ability to collaborate with teams and multi-task on multiple products and projects.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $122400 - $201600 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
