Team Introduction
We're looking for a passionate product design intern to join the fast growing team at TikTok in New York or San Francisco to lead and own product features that help evolve and drive impact for TikTok globally.
You go beyond static with your UI. Bonus skill if you have a design niche, whether it's After Effects, Lottie, Principle, Cinema4D, you are a tinkerer and you'll always push the UI to truly give that stand out experience to a user through those stunning, clean interactions.

Love design systems? Like to be technical? Then we want you to get right into those details, so for this role, you have the opportunity to refine, polish, optimize, and enhace exisitng componens as well as work with the team to add new components as needed. For this role, please have some case studies to show the design system work you've done in the past.

Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in September 2024. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship start dates below:

Responsibilities
- Work with cross functional teams including product managers, researchers, UX writers, and engineers to envision and execute impactful product experiences globally
- Assist multiple projects for design from strategy to launch, ensuring we're shipping meaningful and quality experiences
- Provide multiple solutions based on user needs, business goals, and technical constraints for any given project
- Create end-to-end user flows, both low and high fidelity, and prototypes as needed
- Review product releases qualitatively and through data, pre and post launch to ensure high quality experiences are reaching millions of TikTok users
- Assist design workshops and sprints with cross-functional teams to explore innovative solutions for problems and opportunities identified through research and data
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Portfolio demonstrating strong skill set in visual and user centered design process
- Ability to rapidly iterate and produce multiple concepts
- Great communication skills to be able to articulate your concepts, vision and decision-making
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt to a fast growing environment
- Strong eye for detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Succeed within a startup culture which celebrates efficiency and driving impact
- You are not afraid to fail but driven by success
- Academic foundation in visual / motion / UX design
- You love Figma and detail obsessed
