Responsibilities
As Head of Risk Containment, you will oversee Rapid Response and Containment functions, and lead your team to work closely with key cross-functional stakeholders at TikTok to manage the enforcement and containment remediation for risks, trends or leakages identified. You will be responsible to:
- Build dedicated organizational capabilities, including tools and competencies, to contain risks and to mitigate issues once they are identified, as well as preventing such risk from recurring.
- Manage effective and efficient operations to ensure consistent and prompt execution of risk containment activities, particularly responses to incidents and crises. Lead process improvement efforts and drive accountability for results with relevant global and regional leads.

- Oversee development of frameworks, automated enforcement, process automations, and other tools to improve response effectiveness and resource efficiency.
- Build actionable recommendation plans based on identified gaps and/or improvement areas with relevant owners, deadlines and interdependencies identified. (e.g., Product, internal tooling).
- Partner effectively with Global and Regional Legal, T&S Policy, Risk Detection, and other T&S teams to ensure cross-functional collaboration and situational awareness to ensure end-to-end protection for community well-being and safety.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: Extensive leadership experience in risk containment, crisis response, investigation, incident analysis & management, or related fields ideally within tech/digital platforms or online content sharing environment.
- T&S Knowledge: Knowledge of T&S policies, regulations, functions and workflow. Solid understanding of market and regulation trends, as well as the T&S ecosystem.
- Complex Project Management: Proven track record in managing large-scale, high-impact incidents and containment operations; Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Risk & Incident Analysis and Investigation: Strong analytical capabilities to coach others to assess risks, identify patterns, and recommend proactive measures; knowledge of risk management frameworks & risk lifcycle, incident response protocols, and process optimization.
- Communication: Skilled in business writing and presentations, ability to distill complex information.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to establish relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to solve problems, resolve escalations, influence strategy, and drive synergies across teams.
- Team Building: Ability to support teams with coaching, development, and talent planning. Ability to build up Red Team and define specific roles & responsibilities, workflows, and capabilities needed. Interpret the business and operating environment to make thoughtful, strategic decisions in the long-term interest of T&S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Global Risk Awareness: Knowledge of risks that are specific to social media platforms across multiple markets/regions, industry, and understanding of potential threat trajectories and cross product threat picture.
- Containment Operations Management: Experience leading 24/7 global risk containment or crisis response teams and supporting operational efficiency, quick response time, and team wellness in these environments.
- Communication: Skilled in executive-level writing and engaging communications with teams.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $220000 - $450000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
