Video Producer, Israel and Palestinian Territories
This position will be based in Jerusalem.
Reuters is seeking an enthusiastic visuals producer to join our award-winning team in Jerusalem. Working with video and photojournalists in the field, colleagues in the bureau, and our global visual verification team, this is a great opportunity for someone with experience in video news gathering and news production to develop their skills further and work as part of a collaborative global team.
You'll work closely with colleagues across the region, and will use your excellent news judgement, passion for creative storytelling and your ability to navigate sensitive stories to deliver news to an international audience. We're looking for someone that's committed to delivering unbiased and impartial journalism and that has a thorough understanding of the Israel-Palestinian conflict, Israeli politics and its wider context in international news. Given the nature of this position, the job requires flexibility and willingness to work after office hours and weekends in a fast-paced bureau covering one of the world's biggest stories.
About the Role
As Producer, Israel and Palestinian Territories, you will:
- Process and produce daily news content, with responsibility for editing video coverage and writing scripts and stories in excellent English.
- Coordinate crews on the ground, helping them win live and edited news gathering.
- Work with colleagues in our global production centres to ensure we are fast and accurate.
- Pitch, develop and produce creative stories that take us beyond the headlines. Have a passion for telling stories about people.
- Field produce multimedia stories for our global client base and Reuters own platforms. Be a skilled storyboarder, interviewer and editor.
- Monitor, assess, and process user-generated content and institutional handout.
- Collaborate with colleagues in safety and operations to keep our teams safe and supported.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Video Producer, Israel and Palestinian Territories if you have:
- You will be fluent in English and Hebrew. If you have additional Arabic language skills, please highlight this on your application.
- You will have in-depth knowledge of the Israel-Palestinian conflict and its history, with a sensitive and thoughtful approach to telling stories in the region.
- Excellent editing skills on Adobe Premiere are essential, experience filming news and proficiency with filming kit is desirable .
- You can work closely and collaboratively with others to tight deadlines and under pressure.
