Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Delivery team, responsible for owning origin and CDN provisioning for customer websites on the Arc platform. This role involves managing web delivery setups, performing site launches, upgrades, and ensuring the smooth operation of high-scale web properties. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to handle site configuration, contribute to improving processes, and help shape future automation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Own the web delivery setup for Arc customers, focusing on origin and CDN provisioning from initial setup through ongoing maintenance.
  • Perform upgrades and site configuration tasks, including:
  • Setting up sites, domain hostnames, and handling static and root file configurations.
  • Managing launch tickets and support, and coordinating timelines with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Handling SSL enforcement, redirects, authentication headers, and other custom client requests.
  • Executing necessary site upgrades and improvements as required by client or platform needs.
  • Proactively identify areas for automation and contribute ideas to streamline processes such as configuration, setup, and monitoring, reducing manual workload for the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including account management, platform teams, and support to ensure smooth client engagements and effective web delivery.
  • Respond to production monitoring and troubleshooting as part of a global on-call rotation, addressing client issues and site performance problems.
  • Participate in agile activities such as story grooming, sprint planning, work estimation, retrospectives, and demos.
  • Continuously evolve and expand your skill set, while actively contributing to a culture of learning and automation innovation within the team.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience configuring highly scalable, customer-facing applications.
  • Strong understanding of HTTP, caching, and experience working with Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to deliver large-scale public websites.
  • Experience analyzing application and cloud performance using logs, metrics, and alerts.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience in at least one server-side programming language (e.g., Python, Node.js).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building and deploying web applications in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
  • Familiarity with Akamai or other CDN providers.
  • Experience working in a global environment with employees and customers across multiple time zones.
  • Experience working in DevOps teams that own the full software engineering lifecycle.
  • Strong interest in contributing to automation efforts, bringing ideas to reduce manual processes and improve delivery efficiency.

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.

The salary range for this position is:
108,700.00 - 181,100.00 USD Annual

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
