Job Description

The Washington Post is looking for an experienced graphics reporter to produce charts, graphics and data visualizations for WP Intelligence, The Washington Post's new subscription division aimed at delivering insightful analysis to C-Suite executives, thought leaders and policy influencers. This role reports to the Newsroom's Graphics team but will be fully dedicated to the WP Intelligence product.

Key responsibilities
  • Enhance WP Intelligence reports and analysis by creating compelling charts, graphics and data visualizations, collaborating with the editorial director and lead analysts.
  • Deliver valuable graphics to WP Intelligence subscribers by helping to manage a library of data visualizations, working with Product & Engineering.
  • Understand customer needs by working across multiple departments, including the WP Intelligence editorial team, Product & Engineering, and occasionally the subscriptions and sales teams.
Requirements
  • At least five years of experience designing and producing charts and data visualizations or demonstrated capacity to produce them independently without much external editing.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of code (React preferred), statistical software (R, Python) and experience in production and news is a strong plus.

The salary range for this position is: $109,200.00 - $182,000.00. The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
