The Washington Post is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sr. Engagement Specialist to join our subscriptions marketing team. In this pivotal role, you will support strategic efforts to maximize subscriber engagement, drive product adoption, and enhance overall subscriber retention. Your work will directly contribute to increasing customer lifetime value and strengthening subscriber loyalty.

Reporting to the Engagement Manager, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, data science, analytics, finance, and brand marketing, to execute comprehensive engagement strategies. Your technical, creative, and analytical skills will be crucial in developing personalized experiences that resonate with our diverse subscriber base.

Responsibilities
  • Execute onsite, app, email, and paid media campaigns targeting current subscribers, using automation tools to build loyalty, improve engagement, and increase customer lifetime value. Focus on enhancing the customer journey across all touchpoints and marketing channels.
  • Partner with stakeholders across brand marketing, product, news and analytics to exeute and project manage when necessary engagement initiatives that align with broader business objectives and enhance the subscriber experience.
  • Oversee the creation and optimization of subscriber journeys, with a particular focus on the critical first 100 days, to ensure proper onboarding and long-term retention.
  • Oversee day-to-day engagement campaign management, optimizing performance and audience development.
  • Collaborate with analytics to develop and maintain dashboards tracking key performance indicators and campaign outcomes, analyzing campaign effectiveness, demonstrating ROI, sharing key learnings, and making growth recommendations.
  • Monitor and adjust ROI on marketing initiatives to ensure alignment with campaign goals and stay updated on customer lifecycle marketing trends, best practices, and technologies to identify new opportunities.
Requirements
  • 3-4 years of experience in digital marketing, customer communications, or related fields, preferably in a subscription-based business.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data tracking and analysis tools for interpreting customer data and trends.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent project management and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to monitor campaign impact, interpret A/B test outcomes, and identify performance trends.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong cross-functional teamwork, swift execution, proactive problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Technical proficiency in various marketing tools skills to support campaign execution across multiple platforms.

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.

The salary range for this position is:
74,000.00 - 111,000.00 USD Annual

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
