This role will report to VP of Finance and will closely collaborate with the Controller.

  • You are comfortable proposing and implementing process improvements to gain efficiencies and to streamline processes .
  • You are open to your role evolving as the organization evolves and new needs arise, including but not limited to involvement with carbon accounting, enterprise and strategy risk management, and other risk, controls, and accounting matters .
Responsibilities
  • Plan and support internal and external audit engagements to ensure a seamless and timely completion of audits in accordance with regulatory and company-established standards.
  • Consult with business owners and auditors on control development, testing and deficiency management in accordance with regulatory and company-established standards.
  • Review and update policies, process narratives and flowcharts to reflect current business practices, identify changes in risks, assess the adequacy of existing controls and implement new controls when needed. Provide suggestions and implement improvements for streamlining internal control processes .
  • Lead annual insurance renewal activities, such as gathering exposures and preparing insurance applications; work with insurance carriers on annual premium audits to ensure accurate reporting and timely audit completion in accordance with regulatory and company-established standards.
  • Complete scheduled disclosures, control attestations and fraud and business risk assessments to identify new risks, develop solutions to address those risks, and minimize impact to the business.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on insurance claims, contract provisions as they relate to insurance, and loss trends to protect the company and its employees from losses and mitigate the impact of potential losses.
  • Provide coordination on loss prevention activities between the casualty carrier and various business units to identify risks, process and control improvement opportunities, and effective mitigation strategies to prevent and reduce the number and severity of losses.
  • Coordinate and review cross-departmental data gathering to correctly complete government surveys .
  • Collaborate with General Counsel and Accounting to track retention and reimbursable claims.
  • Collaborate with Finance teams and departments to identify and manage risk exposure.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting (CPA required )
  • Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) a plus
  • 5+ years of external/internal audit experience
  • A demonstrated understanding of accounting and control frameworks
  • A demonstrated ability to identify and assess threats to a company's security, reputation, finances, and operations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent project planning and organization skills for projects that span multiple teams within Finance and other departments in the organization
  • Ability to work effectively and persuasively with business owners at all levels
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 360 tools, including Excel, Word , PowerPoint , SharePoint , Teams
  • High level of aptitude for innovative technology use d to automate and streamline processes, to expedite voluminous data requests and data entry
  • Automation skills preferred but not required

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.

The salary range for this position is:
91,800.00 - 153,000.00 USD Annual

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
