Job Description
The Regional Marketing Manager is a dual-focused role that merges strategic marketing leadership with robust project management to serve regional sales teams. Based in Washington, D.C., this role is designed to support key regional clients across home services, performance accounts, large retail, and the arts. The successful candidate will leverage over 10 years of experience in various marketing functions to develop innovative pre-sale marketing strategies as well as manage comprehensive content programs and custom advertising solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sale Marketing & Creative Strategy
- Translate client challenges and objectives into insights-driven creative partnerships and proposals.
- Develop high-value, integrated proposals that combine original branded content, live events, digital media, and innovative sponsorship opportunities.
- Craft custom content strategies that address client challenges while aligning with the Washington Post's brand, technology, and audience strengths.
- Deliver dynamic presentations to clients and agency teams that spark enthusiasm and drive business results.
- Collaborate with creative, editorial, and product teams to ensure proposals meet both client needs and internal quality standards.

- Act as the dedicated project manager for regional campaigns, coordinating cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to implement custom advertising solutions.
- Serve as the primary client contact, managing communications and ensuring alignment between client expectations and campaign execution.
- Develop and oversee project timelines, managing internal workflows to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables across all platforms (desktop, mobile, print, social, and app-based channels).
- Collaborate with sales, ad operations, and performance management teams to monitor campaign performance, track key metrics, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Maintain proactive oversight of the entire creative process, balancing daily project demands with strategic initiatives to benefit the overall team.
- A minimum of 10 years of diverse marketing experience with a strong track record in creative strategy, content development, and project/program management.
- Deep understanding of regional markets, particularly within home services, performance accounts, large retail, and arts sectors.
- Demonstrated success in developing and pitching integrated marketing proposals and managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills with proven ability to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling presentations.
- Proficiency in project management tools and standard software suites such as Microsoft Office, Google Drive, PowerPoint, and similar tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across various departments and with diverse teams.
This role will serve as a critical bridge between the marketing and program management functions of the regional sales teams, ensuring that both pre-sale marketing and content program initiatives are seamlessly integrated to deliver high-impact results for our regional client base.
The Washington Post's policy for employees is five days per week in the office, with exceptions for newsgathering and general business travel.

The salary range for this position is:
91,800.00 - 153,000.00 USD Annual
The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
