Job Description

The Client Partner will manage existing accounts, respond to inbound leads and prospect for new ones selling our suite of standard advertising products in The Washington Post print edition, on washingtonpost.com and in other publications and products. Our ideal candidate: someone with proven success in maintaining a large, high volume, mostly transactional account list, with an understanding of the industries of responsibility.

What the successful candidate will bring to the table: a disciplined approach to maintaining daily sales activity levels; the ability to prospect and acquire new businesses; strong presentation skills; and a proven track record in building and sustaining client-based relationships-all to drive incremental sales that will meet and exceed our goals.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a high volume of transactional business.
  • Ensure all account and campaign execution is correct from pre-sale through post-sale.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients to understand their business needs and goals.
  • Command expertise in our suite of standardized print and digital products and help inform product development as it relates to industry vertical needs and trends.
  • Understand industry trends as they pertain to clients.
  • Prospect new and re-engage dormant accounts.
  • Communicate and report sales plans and actions taken to management.
  • Collaborate with internal partners effectively.
  • Entertain clients when appropriate.
  • Meet/exceed monthly performance metrics as determined by manager.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue goals.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in media sales, preferably within industries of responsibility.
  • Experience in both account management and business development.
  • Ability to travel to client locations (when in-person meeting activity is appropriate).
  • Strong presentation and sales skills and a proven record of accomplishment in building and sustaining client relationships.
  • Knowledge of print and digital media market and the ability to respond effectively to market direction, client needs and competition.
  • Willing to self-start and prospect to uncover new business.
  • A strong, professional, goal-oriented work ethic and a track record of meeting quarterly/annual goals.
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in parallel.
  • A desire to manage the entire sales process (including prospecting, acquiring new business and maintaining relationships).
  • Experience selling print and standard digital advertising.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook and salesforce.com.

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.

The salary range for this position is:
76,950.00 - 128,250.00 USD Annual

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
