Job Description

The Washington Post is looking for a highly motivated audience and marketing coordinator to contribute to audience curation and grow exposure and engagement for in-person and virtual events across The Washington Post. This person will be responsible for implementing essential marketing efforts, including but not limited to managing website and team deadlines, coordinating digital and print campaigns, tracking viewership, various email campaigns and identifying new opportunities for growth. Additionally, this person will contribute to audience growth through curating and managing invite lists and strategies and tracking key email success metrics. This position is an integral one on the team, as he or she will identify ways to grow Post Live's audience and their engagement with our programs.

The role requires the ability to prioritize multiple projects and priorities; strong attention to detail and the flexibility and creativity to work with a fast-paced, collaborative team. The Washington Post Live team produces hundreds of virtual and in person events a year, including curated dinners, large-scale full-day summits and everything in between.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Create, manage and adhere to fast-paced team deadlines
  • Ensure promotional materials are accurate and follow Post style and branding guidelines
  • Maintain program website pages and regularly publish updates
  • Coordinate and track success of print and digital advertising efforts
  • Support social media strategy through promotional posts and creativity
  • Research and implement influencer audience outreach to build a strong, qualified audience of thought leaders for Post Live programs and events
  • Create audience profiles for each event, build and curate audience lists and maintain an overall lead database
  • Curate and manage email campaigns that convert leads to registrations
  • Research new growth channels for leads and retention
  • Track performance and data and identify trends and recommendations for success
  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with program stakeholders, including but not limited to leadership, designers, news producers and other coordinators

Requirements:
  • Proven track record of exceptional research and organizational skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively, prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding skills in communication, time management, organization and teamwork
  • Strong writing, copyediting, proofreading and research ability
  • Ability to work independently
  • Advanced skill level of Microsoft Office including Excel, Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Google Docs, etc.
  • Media, marketing, agency or project management background (2+ years)
  • Experience with Asana (or similar project management tool) a plus
  • Strong news judgment or background in journalism a plus
  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.

The salary range for this position is:
55,900.00 - 83,900.00 USD Annual

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
