Senior Trade Compliance Specialist

The Senior Trade Compliance Specialist acts as a lead associate within the Trade Compliance team responsible for developing and maintaining import policies, procedures, and system applications related to import regulatory compliance. A subject matter expert in key areas including U.S. Customs Harmonized Tariff (HTS) classification and duty determination, U.S. Customs and partner government agency regulations and import requirements, free trade/preferential duty treatment and tariff programs, and the ability to provide technical guidance and training to peers and business partners within TJX's global network on critical import trade compliance topics.

Responsibilities:
- Determine HTS classifications and duty rates for retail merchandise across 65+ chapters of the Harmonize Tariff Schedule, submit binding ruling requests, and maintain tariff and duty-related reference materials
- Monitor, research, and interpret regulatory changes and import requirements for U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies, including FDA, USDA, EPA, Fish & Wildlife, and CPSC, to support import readiness and compliance
- Support the development and implementation of new processes, procedures, and operating system solutions to enable compliance and efficiency for existing and new import regulations; educate business partners in areas of newness or complex importing requirements
- Perform product and risk assessments of complex and highly regulated product categories
- Highly knowledgeable of antidumping & countervailing duty cases, conduct scope determinations across various retail product categories
- Confirms duty free eligibility of styles imported from Free Trade eligible countries, overall understanding of applicability and documentation requirements across various FTA programs
- Document and maintain import compliance training and reference materials to support TJX business partners
- Mitigate compliance risks, avoid additional import costs, maintain import readiness and overall flow of merchandise within international supply chain
- Support key trade compliance initiatives and projects as required
- Understand import license requirements, secure and renew applicable licenses as needed
- Review product labeling completeness and accuracy to applicable laws, government regulations, and import requirements
Who We Are Looking For: You.
- U.S. Customs Broker License Required
- 5+ years of work experience in Regulatory Compliance field
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Understanding of trade and import regulations, willingness to cultivate knowledge
- Ability to interpret trade regulations to TJX business model
- Attention to detail
- Ability to assess and weigh risk
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work

This position has a starting salary range of $83,100.00 to $106,000.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive.
