Job Description:

The Global Trade Finance Officer III develops and retains global trade business and grows fee income independently and as part of a relationship management team, meeting with prospects and Customers of various levels of complexity in a designated region to a specified sales goal. The Global Trade Finance Officer III markets specialized financial services to companies involved with global trade, including importers, exporters and others as well as centers of influence in both public and private entities. The job develops comprehensive service and risk management plans to help Customers manage their global trade activities. The Global Trade Finance Officer III ensures that own work, as well as work of any Employees supervised, is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies located on Company intranet; policies include but are not limited to Fair Lending, Know Your Customer, Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable anti-money-laundering policies.

Depth & Scope:

  • Leads activities of unit, assigning, prioritizing and monitoring work
  • Coordinates with appropriate personnel and performs complex technical analyses to develop service and risk management recommendations
  • Creates and delivers sales presentations for largest internal and external audiences and organizations to explain global trade products, services and risk management solutions
  • Makes prospect and Customer calls both jointly with account relationship managers and independently to sell global trade products and cross sell other Company products and services
  • Manages assigned territory
  • Explains wide array of services or risk management alternatives and guides prospects to best choices based on global trade experience, understanding of industry and individual prospect situations
  • Negotiates specific terms and conditions for agreements within parameters defined by financing plans
  • Finalizes financing agreements with prospects and closes sales
  • Consults with other senior staff or management to develop additional alternatives or evaluate Customer business prospects
  • Manages assigned territory in coordination with other appropriate internal personnel
  • Provides training and mentoring for new and less experienced staff
  • Develops servicing or risk management plans and strategies
  • Represents Global Trade Finance at Company functions, business groups and civic organizations to help develop referral network and enhance sales performance
  • Monitors status of assigned territory Customer accounts to ensure conformity with terms; ensures necessary documentation is completed and forwarded for processing; remains informed of developing trends
  • Performs technical analyses and researches information as needed, coordinating with loan officers, credit officers and others as necessary

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below
  • 7-10 Years of related experience
  • In-depth understanding of international banking business development techniques and technical strategies
  • Proven business development track record, with ability to conceptualize and implement effective new business strategies
  • Strong market presence with wide network of outside referral sources for new business
  • Strong technical and financial analysis skills
  • Refined negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • PC skills
  • Membership in civic and professional organizations required after employment
  • Extensive travel and evening work is required
