The Human Resources (HR) Specialist leads the development initiatives of the Hong Kong Buying Office (HKBO). This role focuses primarily on Associate growth by facilitating training, coaching coordination, new leader assimilation, associate assessments and other projects that enhance Associate performance. The incumbent is required to understand our unique business model, represent the company, but also be a champion for Associates with recommendations and actions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Responsibilities also include collaboration with the US Head Office L&D Teams and other global buying offices to supporting the Hong Kong office.

The position is ideal for someone with learning and development experience looking to take on the challenge of leading this function.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of Associate Development and promote TJX Culture in Hong Kong
  • Determine training needs for the office and create an annual plan for L&D offering
  • Collaborate with global L&D partners to leverage and customize resources for the region
  • Based on needs, build training or bring topics in-house, be trained as the trainer and facilitate sessions
  • Onboard coordination for new joiners including introduction and setting up onboarding plans to enhance transition of new Associates into the organization.
  • Facilitate new leader assimilation
  • Support HKBO College curriculum, invite enrollment of coaches
  • Support Individual Develop Plan (IDP) creation and collection
  • Coordinate Internal and External coaching
  • Enforce TJX cultural factors via regular communication
  • Represent the Hong Kong Buying Office and model TJX culture by showing a positive can-do attitude
  • Listen and champion the views of the Associates. Be a voice for them to ensure practices continue to be fair
  • Support the Head of HR and Head of Office on other initiatives as required

Job Impact:

  • Coverage of selected HR responsibilities impacting Hong Kong Buying Office (HKBO)
  • Work in a team environment with U.S. Head Office, Global Buying Office HR and Asia-Pacific Region Teams.

  • Prioritizes key initiatives and respond to challenges with solutions
  • Through communications with various parties, establish own views that ensures fairness across all parties. Have the integrity and confidence to voice concerns even when unpopular

Job Requirements:

  • 7 years working experience in Human Resources. 3 years working experience in a Learning and Development capacity. Those with more experience will be considered for a Senior Specialist.
  • Substantial business acumen and curiosity in impact of HKBO
  • Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and business strategy
  • Ability to develop and deliver relevant, effective training programs to targeted audiences
  • Ability to listen, engage, inspire and influence
  • Appropriately handles sensitive and confidential information
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
