About Team:

The AIG BI and analytics team plays a vital role in the Analytical Instrumentation Group (AIG) at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. Our team focuses on delivering outstanding Business Intelligence and Analytics products. We strive to develop creative solutions that offer valuable insights, assess performance, and generate predictive models for identifying growth opportunities. By applying advanced BI, Machine learning, and cloud technologies, we aim to create top-notch products through an agile methodology.

Roles & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Technical Scrum Master experienced in deploying data and analytics products in an agile manner. As a Technical Scrum Master, you will be responsible for the agile scrum process for Scrum Teams delivering Analytical Instrumentation Group Business Intelligence and Analytical solutions. Your role will involve coaching and mentoring the existing team on scrum methodology, as well as coordinating with various scrum teams in Release Train and release management to ensure seamless feature delivery in production.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates the qualities of a Lean-Agile Leader by adopting the principles and practices of SAFe. Supports the team in adopting SAFe Core Values and implementing SAFe practices.
  • Ensure the rules of an Agile Team are lightweight, yet rigorously implemented. The Scrum Master is responsible for reinforcing the rules of Scrum, Built-In Quality practices from Extreme Programming (XP), Work in Process (WIP) limits from Kanban, and any other process rules agreed upon by the team.
  • Improve the quality of outputs and meet the Definition of Done (DoD) to promote SAFe quality practices. Cultivate a collaborative and skilled Agile team to achieve excellence in technical workmanship.
  • Support the timely completion of tasks through collaboration and open communication. Seek management intervention for personnel issues only when internal team approaches have been unsuccessful in finding a resolution.
  • Coordinate inter-team collaboration and ensure the team operates effectively on the train.
  • Cultivate the widespread adoption of SAFe throughout the organization by providing guidance to individuals and teams who are not familiar with agile practices. Join the Scrum Master Community of Practice and contribute to other company-wide efforts.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and team members to enhance the overall development Value Stream and promote organizational effectiveness.
  • Assist the team in effective preparation for ART activities, including PI Planning, System Demos, and the Inspect and Adapt.
  • Supervise various metrics that track the team's Quality, Productivity, Predictability, and Innovation behaviors. These include the Product backlog, burn down chart, Sprint burn-up charts, Release burn down chart, Team velocity, Quality Reports, and more.
  • Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and coach them to higher levels of maturity at a sustainable pace.
  • Anticipate needs and problems in the development cycle. Be willing to ask difficult questions, take risks, and embrace challenge and change as opportunities.
  • Show a strong curiosity about process automation and keep informed about the latest developments in agile approaches and development methods (Functional and Non-Functional). Come up with innovative ideas to improve the future of the product.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment that cultivates experimentation, creativity, and innovation.
  • Be a highly motivated fast learner who can self-start and figure out what needs figuring out.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively detail artifacts and processes, then explain them to others.

Candidate Requirement:

Education: Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent degree with 6+ years of proven experience

Mandatory Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Business Intelligence
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment, coordinating the collaboration of multiple teams
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in handling projects using BI and cloud technologies such as Power BI, Tableau, AWS, SQL server, etc.
  • Experience, instincts, and enthusiasm around testing and testability and driving quality objectives
  • Experience in driving implementation and reporting of Non-Functional Requirements (NFR - Performance, Cost, etc.)
  • Have Agile Scrum Certifications (i.e. SAFe SSM, CSM, PMP-ACP, etc.)
  • Experience in working and handling Atlassian suite tools
