Roles & Responsibilities

Purpose:

As a Sr Scrum Master, you will lead the Connect Edge team in connecting instrument teams to the Thermo Fisher Cloud. Your work will have a real-world impact. We foster a close-knit, collaborative work environment that prioritizes teamwork and achieving customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:

  • Scrum Master for Multiple Teams: Act as Scrum Master for multiple teams, driving team-level ceremonies and cadences.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Encourage cross-team coordination and collaboration.
  • Barrier Management: Assist the team(s) in removing barriers and raise concerns when needed.
  • Third-Party Interaction Management: Facilitate management of the team's dependencies with third parties.
  • Conflict Resolution: Foster discussion, decision-making based on data, and conflict resolution.
  • Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with diverse teams to align strategy, methodology, and execution.
  • Metrics Maintenance: Maintain metrics for team-level progress and quality.
  • Contribution to Agile and SAFe Programs: Contribute to the company's Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) programs.
  • Real-Time Feedback:Provide real-time feedback to the team based on experiences with other software delivery teams.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks. Make sure these risks are captured in Jira for team awareness.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:** Analyze team metrics to identify trends, forecast challenges, and optimize performance.
  • Feedback Follow-up: Value and implement feedback from sprint reviews and customer surveys to improve product and processes.
  • Retrospectives: Lead retrospectives to identify areas of success and improvement, fostering open discussions and actionable steps.
  • Action Items Follow-up: Track and ensure completion of action items from meetings, retrospectives, and feedback.
  • Change Management: Manage the change process by creating and getting approval for Requests for Change (RFCs).
  • Dependencies/Blockers Management:Identify and remove any dependencies or blockers to maintain smooth workflow.
  • Compliance: Prepare for ISO audits, ensure adherence to standards, and address audit findings promptly.
  • Sprint Report Creation: Create detailed sprint reports to provide a transparent view of the team's progress and challenges.
  • Team Page Maintenance: Keep the team page updated with the latest Software Development Plan (SDP) and team agreements.
  • Product Team Page Updates: Maintain the product team page with the latest processes, updates, and progress.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Coach and mentor team members on Agile methodologies, fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve team processes for increased efficiency and productivity.
  • Team Building: Encourage team building and foster a sense of camaraderie.

Candidate Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or Engineering or equivalent

Mandatory Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a ScrumMaster, Product Owner, or Agile Coach for SW development Teams
  • Strong experience in cloud implementation and management, and software development
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong understanding and applied experience with Scrum development principles
  • Ability to coach teams in the Scrum Master capacity
  • Strong facilitator skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities
  • Scrum Master certification is required

Nice to Have Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • PMP or SAFe certification is a plus
  • Experience with embedded software and AWS services
  • Developer background
  • Equivalent experience is also valued.
