The Position

The Project Management team is one of the Competence & Technology departments of TEM solutions, the Research and Development organization. This group is committed to lead the development of innovative technology-, module- and integration projects that enable us to deliver extraordinary TEM microscopes for our demanding markets and customers.

With the ongoing developments in physics and industry the requirements for performance of these TEM microscopes are continuously growing.

As Senior Project Manager you work within a hard-working multi-disciplinary distributed team, and you are responsible to deliver successful projects and highly performing teams. You handle all dependencies between projects and/or programs and to build bridges to secure gate adherence.

In your role, you showcase good knowledge of sophisticated systems and promote Practical Process Improvements with high impact potential. You possess authority level in your field of competence and are able to influence your environment to get things done.

You can easily and effectively communicate business merit and risks of solutions to key partners via written and verbal communication to persuade strategic action. Ensuring teams to actively listen to others and are understood is in your nature. As you have an aim to make yourself, your team, and your environment better, you're capable of mentoring 1 - 2 junior project leads.

A wide-range of different projects for new product introductions as well as non-standard requests orders will enable new technologies to support faster market introductions and customer deliveries.

You have a lot of freedom in your job and you'll build a network within R&D, Business units, Operations, Service, external partners, and customers.

You will report directly to the Sr Manager of Project Management and operationally to the corresponding Portfolio Leader.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Programming and execution of projects, like System Integration, large Modules, and NSRs for one or more portfolios.
  • Implement meticulous review processes and set clear expectations around the key results of the projects.
  • Consistency to the Product Management Process and defined delivery schedules.
  • Handle the requirements and collaborate with multi-functional teams including marketing, manufacturing, service, and finance to ensure breakthrough specifications to be delivered.
  • Supply to the R&D budgeting process by providing financial/budgetary analysis.
  • Manage the program scope within the agreed budget, timeline, and quality.
  • Vet, evaluate, and champion to others new insights for potential product concepts using intelligent risk-taking and innovation tools.
  • Leads others to refine own ideas and ideas of others and look for alliances.
  • Participate and promote intellectual property related idea generation and development.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

  • Typically requires a University Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Typically requires 10+ years of work experience, of which you have worked in similar low volume capital equipment industry.
  • 7+ years confirmed experience in systems or subsystems project management, with ambition to continue to grow in a role as Sr. Staff Project Manager.
  • Consistent track record to lead complicated engineering projects through a defined product development process.
  • Ability to build consensus among key collaborators that may not be under your management control.
  • Strong communication is required due to the multi-functional nature of this role. Explaining business and, technical concepts to a variety of audiences energizes you.
  • Ability to lead and assign specific duties and build a constructive and coordinated working relationship.

You have perseverance, are conclusive and target driven while securing quality-, cost- and time-focus. You combine a strong analytical view with a pragmatic demeanor and can flex yourself in a product development environment. You are value oriented and able to set and act according to priorities at the same time.
