Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Sr Manager, Finance in Chelmsford (Boston), MA and become an outstanding part of our Purification Leadership Team. This role offers a career accelerating opportunity to influence cross-functional business partners and lead core financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes. You will play an integral role in driving growth and profitability, using business intelligence tools and financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary business partner to the General Manager of the Purification business.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams across Product Management, Commercial, R&D, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Coordinate FP&A processes at the division level, including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), the 5-year strategic plan (STRAP), and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews (MBR/QBR).
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for key performance indicators using tools such as PowerBI.
  • Apply financial systems like Hyperion Planning and Essbase to support financial operations.
  • Build investment cases to support growth and profitability across sites, functions and product lines
  • Lead and develop a finance team in core operating mechanisms, including Annual Operating Plan (AOP), annual 5 year strategic plans and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR)
  • Develop new forecast tools and benchmarks/metrics for the sales team.
  • Own the process of assessing risks and opportunities and identifying key operational and financial issues to be addressed.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree required business or finance preferred

Experience: 7+ relevant experience preferred

  • Proven track record of driving growth and profitability in a large, matrixed corporate environment.
  • Remarkable ability to stay organized and a strong grasp of the FP&A cadences of a large corporation.
  • Solid business insight and strong interpersonal skills to effectively influence leaders from various departments.
  • Ability to develop and maintain dashboards and leverage business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with financial systems such as Hyperion Planning and Essbase.
  • Ambitious and determined approach with a focus on successfully implementing financial strategies.
