As a Sr. Manager, Electron Microscopy Application Scientists, you will develop and drive an applications and marketing strategy to capitalize on high-growth verticals in the academic and industry segments of the Life Sciences Electron Microscopy market. This position requires deep technology knowledge, intimacy with customers, and a high level of persuasion and collaboration skills to successfully navigate and gain credibility within our global organization.

A Day in Life

  • Build and lead a strong applications development team that effectively collaborates with the Product Marketing Management, Research and Development, Advanced Technology, Global NanoPorts teams, and applications peers and leaders to drive business growth across regions and key segments.
  • Develop positioning and supporting material to market complete solutions of targeted products and workflows using the latest electron microscopy hardware and software.
  • Use your extensive scientific network to drive thought leadership and build an active and engaged community of key opinion leaders, and other advocates.
  • Contribute to the development of a product roadmap which ensures that key customer needs and specific application requirements are represented and met. Support roadmap execution through application testing and validation at the customer level.
  • Stay on top of research developments and industry trends within the community to determine which market segments to focus on and develop strategies to enter new markets.
  • Analyze the competitive technology landscape and develop a strategy to build differentiated applications focused solutions to increase our global win rate.
  • Provide ongoing leadership and mentorship within the applications and business development teams.

Education and Experience

  • A PhD degree or equivalent in Life Sciences, Structural Biology, Cryo-EM, Image processing, or X-ray crystallography.
  • 10+ years of experience in leading applications or research teams, preferably in a highly matrixed, global organization.
  • Proven experience with electron microscopy sample preparation and knowledge of data collection and processing for single particle analysis, cryo-electron tomography, and Volume EM.
