Responsibilities

  • Use Thermo Fisher Scientific's or customer's inventory/order management electronic systems to perform activities such as on-site program replenishments, disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry, and expediting.
  • Address customer service calls and resolve product returns and backorder processing.
  • Pickup and deliver hazardous waste and inventory packages within the laboratory environment.
  • Sustain and maintain stockroom inventory, ensuring a world-class level of organization.
  • Assist in the registration of chemicals into a chemical database.
  • Follow strict work processes as outlined by written procedures.
  • Listen to customer concerns, address issues promptly, and communicate effectively with supervisors.
  • Engage in process improvement activities to improve service delivery.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; college degree preferred.

Experience

  • 2-3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a laboratory setting or services.
  • Proven customer service, verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficient in English with strong communication skills and a desire to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Ability to collaborate with various levels of Thermo Fisher personnel and customers.
  • Proficiency in operating handheld scanners and data entry functions.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Capability to operate autonomously at customer sites and align with safety protocols, including the utilization of personal protective equipment. Proficiency in using pushcarts, pallet jacks, and forklifts is required.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Works primarily at customer sites, which may require independent work. Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use.
  • May occasionally lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds; using equipment like pushcarts, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
  • Regularly required to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to work overtime, as needed.
