Reports To: Vice President/General Manager (VP/GM), Oral Solid Dose Business, DPD-NA

Location: Mississauga, Ontario

How will you make an impact:

The General Manager for the Mississauga site is a critical role with accountability for significant revenue and leadership of close to 1,000 colleagues. This leader will play a key role in expanding the OSD business within the rapidly expanding Contract Developing and Manufacturing (CDMO) services industry. This individual will strategically deploy internal capabilities to deliver results using a combination of external market intelligence and a deep understanding of customer needs.

What will you do:

Strategy

  • Shapes strategies that set direction for the site within the Americas, leveraging disruptive techniques.
  • Effectively collaborates with business and functional leaders to deploy a shared vision and clear operational strategy with leading indicators for success.
  • Successfully partners with commercial team to build plans for execution.
  • Ensures objectives are implemented which align with strategic business plans of the Drug Production Division, the Pharma Services Group, and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Operational Excellence and Execution

  • Drives financial results for the site, including revenue, margin expansion and cash flow, and to meet and exceed operational metrics and goals.
  • Fosters a continuous improvement culture, driving the harmonization of processes and best practices to accelerate growth, improve customer experience, and maximize asset utilization.
  • Demonstrates trusted partnerships with customers, driving the acquisition of new business by expanding services to current and new clients.
  • Uses business data and analytics to assess risk and make appropriate trade-offs.
  • Role models leveraging all business functions to positive outcomes.

Structure and Organization

  • Drives optimal organization to achieve improved productivity, profitability and competitive strength.
  • Builds a high performing team through acquisition of top talent, coaching, addressing talent gaps/opportunities and driving development.
  • Drives individual accountability and ownership for results.

How will you get here:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree in business administration preferred.
  • Extensive experience delivering strong operational results in a highly regulated, complex manufacturing environment, with proven ability to drive margin expansion and operational improvements.
  • Relevant general management and P&L experience, and proficient at enabling business functions.

Skills and Attributes

  • Highly resilient, agile and results oriented with ability to develop creative growth strategies and guide execution.
  • Ability to inspire, coach, mentor and influence senior leaders to achieve performance objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience in working effectively in a multi-cultural, matrixed organization.
  • Ability and desire to travel up to 20% of time, primarily within region.
