Job Description
The Senior Director, IT Business Partner (BP), is aligned to the businesses within the Clinical Trial Division (Comparator, BioServices, Digital & Clinical Supply Chain). The BP is responsible for understanding the business overall goals, requirements and objectives, assisting in the prioritization of business technology projects, ensuring that projects align with the technology that best provides maximum return on investment, and linking IT strategy in support of the overall business/service line strategy.
The BP, serves as the chief strategic liaison between the business and IT for all technology needs. The BP is a key relationship management role; they will act as an advocate for the business. This role works with their stakeholders at several organizational levels. The BP, works with business area leadership and governance teams to understand project requirements, shape project requests, and provide a high-level estimate of the project effort and costs in cost-benefit analysis. The BP, works with global and local IT resources to identify solutions that match the business strategy with the technology strategy.

The BP is accountable for ensuring effective delivery and support of the applications that enable the business that he/she are aligned to. They are also accountable for creating and delivering on a lifecycle management approach for their portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact / liaison between Business and Group/Division IT
- Engage as integral member of Group/Division IT leadership staff who proactively contributes to the thought leadership of running the IT group
- Advise Group/Division IT Leadership staff on Business strategy and general infrastructure trends
- Act as trusted advisor for infrastructure technology to Group/Division IT leadership staff
- Understand the strategic business direction in an effort to identify opportunities for technology innovation
- Identify Business technology needs and growth strategies and maintain 3 year technology roadmaps within PPM (Proposals) ensuring the roadmap is evergreen
- Represent and communicate Business management's Infrastructure Technology needs to Group/Division
- Provide leadership in a high growth business balancing financial commitments while leveraging Thermo Fisher capabilities
- Actively participate in the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process ensuring that Group/Division initiatives are accounted for in Business AOP and Business initiatives are accounted for in Group/Division AOP
- Prioritize demand for assigned Business collaborating with architecture teams and resource managers to ensure project interdependencies are accounted for and resources able to fulfill demand
- Ensure that organizational and business related priorities are clearly and consistently communicated
- Responsible for leading the application development and support teams supporting their service line's applications.
- Ensures that all IT local needs are understood and addressed by leveraging globalized processes and through active participation as a member of the Global IT team.
- Ensures that teams are adhering and supporting quality procedures and policies.
- Display role model leadership in areas of cyber security and quality
Qualifications:
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Building strong relationships; excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills
- Navigating a large IT department with a high number of technologies and technical disciplines
- Facilitating innovation in business process and technical solution delivery
- Experience leading a matrix team of professionals, and communicating with various levels of management is highly desired. Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
- Experience as an IT leader at a manufacturing site (preferred)
- More than 15 years working experience developing and supporting Manufacturing Systems; Quality Systems; ERP; Business Intelligence
- More than 5 years working in the Pharmaceuticals or Life Sciences industry (preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree in the field of information technology, engineering, computer science and / or business administration (required)
- Proven ability in a high growth business and developing teams to scale and deliver on commitments
- Advanced degree in business or technology, such as an MBA (preferred).
