How will you make an impact?
You will lead multiple local diverse and highly motivated teams of about 20+ software team-members (Scrum masters, developers, testers etc).
As part of Thermo Fisher Scientific you will develop and grow our software staff and teams to support our digital science vision. You will provide career mentor break down barriers and teams in collaborating with other groups to achieve our vision.
You will play a key role in supporting and facilitating the adoption of Agile principles and practices.
The TEM Automation teams are developing automated calibrations, alignments and image processing software for Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM). Our innovative solutions boost efficiency in customer labs as well as in our manufacture by automatically aligning microscope to safe unnecessary human work! We are primarily developing in Python on Windows platform.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for empowering and developing the software development team within Agile framework. This involves coaching and mentoring team members, fostering their professional growth, and promoting a self-organizing team
- Working together with your manager and peers based in the Netherlands to align on the strategy of the department and work on capacity and competences of your team.
- Ensure the agile teams are equipped with the right skills, knowledge, tools, infrastructure, and support to effectively deliver the software requested.
- Develop a high-performance team by creating psychological safety, positive work environment, promote collaboration, and empower the team to achieve their goals.
- Support teams deliver software according to the agreed quality standards and levels and help them to resolve quality impediments.
- Responsible to maintain team knowledge, contribution and adherence to applicable Company Procedure and Processes
Education / Experience
- MSc or BSc degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related field.
- 3+ years in a leadership role
- 5+ years in software development
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

- A phenomenal teammate with good natural interpersonal communications skills
- Strong analytical, pragmatic and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of agile practices (SAFe / Scrum)
