Education Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or other related field: B.S. degree and a minimum of 2 years industry experience, or, M.S. degree. Equivalent combination of education and years of related experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

  • Perform multistep organic synthesis.
  • Complete manufacturing protocols accurately and with limited supervision.
  • Maintain detailed and complete product test records per in-house testing procedures and in compliance with ISO13485, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Operate general laboratory instrumentation, such as HPLC, LC/MS, NMR, MS, GC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, FTIR, and fluorescence spectrophotometers.
  • Assist in writing and reviewing new and existing SOPs.
  • Conduct analytical testing used to control raw materials, production intermediates, and final products.
  • Track and expedite closure of deviations, determining root cause and CAPA for nonconforming product.
  • Weigh, measure, and check raw materials to assure batches manufactured contain accurate materials and quantities.
  • Maintain equipment and rooms in accurate operational condition and cleanliness.
  • Work as a team lead or team member on projects (transfers, continuous improvements, investigations, etc.).
  • Communicate effectively with other production staff.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in synthetic chemistry and manufacturing protocols.
  • Familiarity with ISO13485, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in operating laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, LC/MS, NMR, MS, GC, GC-MS, UV-Vis, FTIR, fluorescence spectrophotometers).
  • Strong analytical testing skills for raw materials, intermediates, and final products.
  • Experience in writing and reviewing SOPs.
  • Knowledge of Process Excellence, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to track and resolve deviations, determine root causes, and implement CAPA.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
