The Position

The Software Product Owner has a self-propelling role, working as a software development team member within the R&D organization, to build a product vision and roadmap that increases value for our customers.

The team works in an agile environment where the SAFe and Scrum frameworks are applied. Together with your team members, you are responsible for the software that enables the users of our Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) products to manipulate the sample in all the ways needed to perform their experiment.

Key responsibilities include, but are not exclusively:

  • Translate the company's customer value propositions into meaningful, industry-leading software (sub)products, that delight our customers.
  • Drive the innovative development of new products through the design, verification, and validation stages.
  • Collect feedback about specific needs by communicating with collaborators regularly and using this information to improve the products.
  • Make the product backlog visible and clear.
  • Handle incoming bug reports and change requests for the product. Handle customer concerns and blocking issues.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by optimizing product performance, improving reliability and stability, and continuously balancing the introduction of new features with the implementation of functional and non-functional improvements.
  • Support product development budgeting, process improvement, and quality assurance where vital.
  • Agree with resource managers on efficient staffing of the development team.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary technical environment to address sophisticated problems. If you enjoy the development of high-performance integrated systems, this is an excellent opportunity.

  • 1-3 years in a software product owner role.
  • A university degree is required.
  • Understanding of software development processes and tools.
  • Sense for agile development. Experience with Scrum is an advantage.
  • Experience with a multisite and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel abroad.
  • Achieve results, develop your capabilities.
