Job Description

Position: Product Owner, Service Management Platform

Location: Strong preference for EST time zone. CST time zone may be considered.

Division summary

The goal of MSD Service is to become an elite service organization demonstrating innovation and digital transformation, to drive customer business outcomes solutions. .

The Product Owner, Service Management Platform role is critical to support the ongoing development of our SAP C4S (Cloud for Service) platform.

You will be responsible for the ongoing leadership of the platform post implementation. We are therefore looking for an experienced Product Owner with strong leadership skills who is able to drive a long-term roadmap and vision for the platform and work closely with key partners to determine business needs and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represents the business, customers and end-users
  • Defines divisional business requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Owns product backlog and prioritization, including development of user stories
  • Assists sprint planning and sprint review meetings
  • Guides the team towards building the right solution
  • Gives final acceptance to completed user stories and sprint results
  • Conducts product demos to collect feedback
  • Plans product plays which transform the way the business engages with customers, drives demand and generates revenue and return on investment
  • Identifies product expansion opportunities to include new use cases and customer experiences
  • Coordinates the projects and their interdependencies, management and utilization of resources across projects
  • Tracks development of capabilities against schedule, forecast and objectives, reporting status to program, service and executive teams
  • Manages stakeholder-communication

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Masters degree preferred

Experience:

  • Service management and management system industry experience
  • 5+ plus years experience as a Product Owner
  • Demonstrated expertise with various industry PM methodologies like AGILE, SCRUM, SAFe

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to think strategically, but also have attention to detail in execution.
  • Ability to analyze situations, apply independent judgment, discretion and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and creative solutions.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and to understand issues from a broad, strategic perspective.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills, including listening and interpretive skills; strong consultative and persuasive skills; and expertise in working effectively and creatively with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
  • Have a validated, strong bias towards execution
  • Passionate about Innovation and Disruptive thinking, clear ability to be an out of the box problem solver.
  • Strong focus on quality, robustness and maintainability of products and processes.
  • High energy level with ability to embrace and model the Thermo Fisher Scientific values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
  • Ability to travel up to 10% globally.
