Location/Division Specific Information

We are a research, development, and production site in Bremen, currently with about 500 employees, whose "high-end" measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. Our innovative products in the fields of Life Sciences MS and Inorganic MS, as well as Trace Elemental Analysis, are among the leading products globally in their respective markets.

Discover Impactful Work:

As a product manager (m/f/d) you are the advocate for the customer within the business, and representative of the product line within the organization. You are accountable for product lifecycle management and product financial performance. You drive the product development roadmap in collaboration with the R&D and Product Marketing teams. You are keenly engaged with customers and with colleagues.

This exciting new strategic role will focus on realizing the potential of Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris Isotope Solutions to unlock the value of information of stable isotopes in the geosciences, environmental, food & beverage, industrial, clean energy and life sciences markets.

A day in the Life:

  • Formulate strategy for driving adoption of Orbitrap technologies for isotopic analysis in the industrial / clean energy and life sciences markets, and drive growth within the geosciences, environmental and food & beverage markets.
  • Build business cases for new product and applications development.
  • Understand our customer requirements through voice of customer interviews and translate these into marketing requirements that define our next successful products.
  • Collaborate fully with the product management and R&D teams.
  • Work closely with the product specialists to prioritize activities that most effectively support sales of the product portfolio, including applications development.
  • Ensure the ultimate customer experience by working closely with support, applications, engineering and software resources to continually improve the product offering, optimize product costs, and ensure quality excellence.
  • Work with the commercial teams to understand our market position and provide the business unit with concise analysis of the market and our business metrics.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of OEIS products.
  • Embody a culture of continuous learning with respect to technology and applications; maintaining a hands-on approach with respect to product, product development and driving market adoption

Keys to Success:
Education

  • University degree in a scientific discipline, such as analytical chemistry or natural sciences. MBA or PhD level qualification preferred.

Experience

  • Several years' experience working in an analytical instruments' business within R&D and/or marketing functions.
  • Previous experience in developing and launching new products is preferred.
  • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of isotopic analysis with the ability to explain complex technologies and applications in plain language. Knowledge of Orbitrap technologies is preferred.

  • Ability to deliver high-impact product presentations at international conferences to both scientific and industrial audiences.
  • Ability to engage with colleagues, customers and prospective customers from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work within a team of people, with the flexibility to prioritize tasks and adjust to new goals as the business needs evolve.
  • Very good command of spoken and written English.
  • Readiness for international travel (up to 25%)
