To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d) located preferably in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Reporting to the Service Centre Operations Manager, EMEA, the Mechanical Engineer's role will be responsible for all aspects involved in the maintenance/installation works undertaken by the company including the managing/overseeing of equipment despatched to construction sites.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Mechanical fitting and assembly of switchgear;
  • Mechanical fitting of equipment contained within modular pods such as A/C units, cooling equipment, gantries;
  • Use of hand tools i.e. De-burring tools, spanners, sockets, screw-drivers, rivet guns & inserting machines;
  • Understanding the correct use of fixings for different aspects of the works;
  • Correct & safe use of power tools;
  • Assembly & fitting of doors;
  • Build plinths and fit cables, copper and components in underfloor plinths;
  • Measure and cut material as required using appropriate tools;
  • Measure, cut and heat shrink ducting channel before fitting;
  • Monitor the works and provide reports as necessary as to project status;
  • To efficiently and effectively direct other employees/contractors engaged in works on behalf of the company.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • Preferably be an electrician, with proven knowledge and experience in LV Switchgear but not a necessity as full internal training will be provided;
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious with a high standard of attention to detail. Ability to work accurately to deadlines in a busy and pressurised environment and demonstrate flexibility;
  • A current UKATA Asbestos Awareness Certificate;
  • A valid Manual Handling Awareness Certificate;
  • A current and relevant ESC Card;
  • Ability for on-call duty during evenings and weekends;
  • Car driving licence valid in the EU;
  • Fluent English and German knowledge both in written and spoken form.
