Position Objective:

Essential Functions:

Safety.

  • Ensure housekeeping standards are evident within all working areas.
  • Stop, raise, and rectify any noticeable hazards immediately.
  • Ensure all PPE is worn at all times while performing manufacturing tasks.
  • Follow the manual handling process for moving equipment, trolleys, consumables, and finished goods.
  • Hold themselves and all colleagues accountable for following safety policies and procedures.

Quality.

  • Demonstrate behaviours encouraged in an aseptic facility.
  • Ensure key tasks are following the relevant WIN/SOP/Policies.
  • Work to a right first time standard.
  • Perform in-process testing to ensure batches meet specification.
  • With the assistance of others, troubleshoot processes, procedures, and in-process batch issues.
  • Accurately record and communicate information - e.g., batch numbers and completion of forms/logs/BMR's to relevant good documentation practices.
  • Advance any issues in real-time to ensure material quality.

Service.

  • Manufacture Cell Culture Media for use in the biotech industry by following established protocols and instructions.
  • Adhere to processes and procedures to ensure standard work is achieved.
  • Prioritize critical tasks independently while balancing multiple tasks to complete workload according to planned times.
  • Operate semi-automated and automated equipment.
  • Suggest feedback to the supervisor on potential improvement ideas around Quality, EHS, or efficiency.
  • Show flexibility to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Education:

  • Must possess a National 5 or better in Standard Grade Mathematics, English, and at least one science subject. Relevant work experience will be considered as a suitable alternative.

Experience:

  • Internal experience developing from a Manufacturing Operator I role is preferable. Experience in a similar industry is suitable with at least 1 year spent working in a highly efficient manufacturing environment. Candidates are expected to work within a fast-paced work environment, demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for our industry, and actively participate in team initiatives to drive continuous improvements.

Working Conditions:

Work in a manufacturing environment which has distinct types of gowning requirements for both graded and non-graded areas. Level II Operators are required to perform manual handling tasks that may be repetitive and involve having to stand for prolonged periods whilst performing duties. Candidates should be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials. Candidates will be required to work overtime if required on a rotating shift pattern.
