Job Description

Manufacturing Technician, Protein Separation Unit, Christchurch (12 month fixed-term).

As a Manufacturing Technician at our facility in Islington, Christchurch, you will be producing our market leading Gibco cell culture media and freeze-dried powder products, used in research, diagnostics, animal health and pharmaceuticals.

Working Monday to Friday, mainly from 6am to 2:30pm, some flexibility in working hours to meet production requirements is required. In return we offer a competitive starting rate and the benefits listed below!

What will I be doing?

  • Collaborate with a small team in a purpose-built modern manufacturing environment, actively operating equipment and processes while following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Be involved in our strong safety and continuous improvement culture.
  • Train in multiple protein separation processes, completing day-to-day production activities and Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), ensuring that all information is accurate, legible and correct to guarantee traceability.
  • Communicate production issues to the Production Supervisor or Team Leaders as they arise, and carry out related duties or assigned tasks that lead to efficient operation of the team and business

Keys to Success:

  • Full training is given to the successful applicant. Experience in a manufacturing, laboratory or a physically active environment is an advantage, as is flexibility in work hours.
  • Minimum NCEA Level 2, with good numeracy and literacy.
  • Strong attention to detail, a great teammate, and a curiosity about finding a better way,
