Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineer you will join the R&D team in providing design and detailed CAD support for product development engineering projects. This includes crafting product concepts, supporting analysis of designs, coordinating product changes through drawing updates.
You will collaborate with design engineers, process engineers, quality engineers, operations and product managers to develop plastic laboratory consumables for life science, cell culture, PCR, liquid handling, medical device, and consumer product markets. You will also support products changes through their production life cycle.
This is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative new product development environment that develops a wide variety of plastic lab ware products from concept to launch using an engineering focused process in an ISO13485 environment.

Responsibilities:
- Solid Model Design: Develop 3D CAD models using SolidWorks, incorporating best design practices and industry design standard and ensuring products meet their requirements
- Detailed Drafting: Create 2D SolidWorks detailed technical product drawings and customer product specification drawings applying GD&T standards
- Product Change Control: Coordinate the review, processing and related recordkeeping of engineering change requests, BOM updates and drawing change requests
- Design Analysis: Support tolerance stack-up analysis studies. Make arithmetic computations using standard formulas, calculate dimensions and tolerances
- Customer Requests: Respond in a timely manner to customer requests for special engineering documentation and proposals
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent certification/experience in a related field with 5+ years product design experience.
- 2D and 3D CAD experience using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software
- Strong proficiency with mechanical drafting standards, GD&T, tolerance analysis
- Excellent communication and technical skills including problem solving, organization and planning.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $87,200.00-$105,000.00.
