Discover Impactful Work:

The Supply Chain Manager in the Nano Probing business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific coordinates US operations, including demand planning, supply planning, and distribution requirements planning. The role involves leading the SIOP process to link Sales, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain forecasts to improve customer service at an efficient cost.

A Day in the Life:

  • Empower and lead Purchasing, Planning, Order Desk, and Warehouse teams. Develop performance goals which enable operational objectives, employee engagement, and revenue goals to be achieved.
  • Manage the order fulfillment process, starting with the Sales and Operating Plan, including material deployment to manufacturing and final product delivery to customers.
  • Provide input into the global Sales and Operating Plan. Work with global Procurement to ensure supplier capacity and inventory are optimized to meet the 24-month rolling plan. Supervise progress and actions needed to meet future demand.
  • Collaborate with internal customers and suppliers to secure material orders for new product introduction and optimize the supply chain to support production ramp.
  • Implement and maintain demand and capacity models to ensure factory space is optimized for growth. Highlight capacity constraints and drive solutions with our suppliers and internal customers.
  • Implement warehouse and inventory strategies to address excess and obsolete materials based on demand plans.
  • Develop key process indicators for purchasing and factory planning that highlight negative trends and drive proactive response, ensuring long-term improvement.
  • Manage the Material Review Board, ensuring rejected materials are processed in a timely manner and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Implement digital tools, training, and critical initiatives needed to enable long-term growth and scale.
  • Provide input and implement standard processes highlighted in the global Operations Supply Chain council, related to improvements, tooling, and new processes.
  • Manage supplier performance data and improvement projects with key suppliers, partnering with global Procurement.
  • Serve as a champion for change and drive lean initiatives and improvement programs that continually grow colleague and team capabilities.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or materials management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the semiconductor equipment industry is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Extensive experience using ERP systems. Experience using QAD or SAP is desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in building or transforming a supply chain or operations organization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills that enable teams to thrive and organizational priorities to be realized.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading by influence in a matrixed, global company.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to connect with team and cross-functional peers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • A servant leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done correctly, on-time, and on-budget when needed.
  • Expert user of Excel and the MS Office suite.
  • Travel up to 10% including some international travel.
  • Preferred Language: English
