Job Description
A motivated and skilled Mid-Level IT Support Specialist with a solid background in manufacturing, laboratory, and GxP (Good x Practice) compliance. Provide technical support to our manufacturing and laboratory teams, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems, equipment, and software while adhering to GxP guidelines. Proactive problem solver with collaboration skills multi-functional teams and business units. Assist in building and maintaining a secure, scalable, and compliant Thermo Fisher IT manufacturing environment.
What will you do?
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and laboratory staff, Industrial Cybersecurity software support (Claroty) and networking issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with IT and compliance teams to ensure GxP guidelines are followed, including data integrity, audit trails, and documentation practices.
- Implement and maintain IT solutions in compliance with IT/OT standards, ensuring security, data integrity and access control within the manufacturing environments.
- Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects related to system upgrades, network remediations, and software implementations within manufacturing settings.
- Ability to work in a team structure, make decisions, address problems, communicate inside & outside the organization, and analyze, plan, coordinate and prioritize work, partnering with Engineering and Global IT to support IOT/OT and Industrial cybersecurity.
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets, including software licenses, hardware components, and peripherals applying Service Now CMDB.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring alignment with GxP regulations, CFR 21 Part 11, and IEC 62443 standards. Maintaining knowledge, industry trends, standard methodologies, and regulatory changes related to IT, manufacturing, laboratory, GxP environments related to the same standards.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers for equipment maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Deliver training and support to end-users on IT tools, applications, security practices, and compliance requirements to improve overall system knowledge and awareness.
- Research new infrastructure technologies and make educated recommendations.

How will you get here?
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
- Consistent record in IT support role within manufacturing, laboratory, or other regulated environments.
- Experience with networking concepts, protocols, and configurations.
- Solid grasp of GxP regulations and experience implementing IT solutions in compliance with these guidelines.
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments and software commonly used in scientific research and data analysis.
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with-in a distributed team.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies in a multifaceted, fast-paced environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of IT processes and standard methodologies related to infrastructure and IT manufacturing technologies.
Tool & Technology Skills
- GMP experience and/or experience deploying, maintaining, and developing validated systems in regulated healthcare environments preferred
- Windows and/or Linux systems administration and/or network device management
- Understanding of Configuration Management in IT (CMDB) and/or Industrial automation systems is a plus
- Ability to solve, diagnose, and resolve issues on PC's and 3rd party applications supported by Corporate Infrastructure and Security and engage functional teams as needed.
