Location / Division Specific Information

We are Patheon Logistics, part of the Pharma Services Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific, and have been providing 3PL logistics services to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries and assisting them in their goal of outstanding patient care. As a light-asset based specialty logistics provider we specialize in high touch and high value distribution and transportation, time-sensitive, temperature-sensitive and white glove transportation services. We are the market leader in providing transportation of pharmaceuticals for clinical trials, including comprehensive solutions for sourcing, global fulfillment and international delivery.

How will you make an impact

The Logistics Specialist I will receive client shipment requests, develop a routing plan and engage with clients and vendors regarding all shipment phases, while maintaining data via Transportation Management System (TMS). Using your professional writing skills, and excellent phone techniques you keep all parties up-to-date on the delivery of life saving medications. All the while, you follow current Standard Operating Procedures, client protocols, and quality criteria in accordance with good distribution practices.

What will you do

  • Conduct proactive carrier and final mile shipment tracking
  • Retain and update applicable costs and status within the TMS
  • Provide essential information, timely to the client and internal staff
  • Support continuous improvement activities
  • Based on business needs, this position may require extra hours
  • Other duties as assigned

How will you get here

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelors degree preferred

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3 years customer service experience
  • Logistics experience preferred
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, consulting organizations
  • Excellent computer and oral/written communication skills

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Experience with couriers and transportation providers, particularly first and final mile
  • Knowledge of Transportation Management System (TMS)
  • Cold chain supply chain with a background in pharmaceuticals preferred
  • Ability to understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
