Job Description:

Builds and maintains customer relations with strategic accounts that typically involve a multi-site national resources, international partner or major global accounts. Identifies, develops and typically closes new sales opportunities. Builds demand for the organization's products and services by raising their profile with customers. Achieves revenue targets by growing revenue spend per account. Conducts regular status and strategy meetings with the customer's senior management to understand their needs and link them to the organization's product/service strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Own all sales/ account management responsibilities of specified Thermo Fisher's products to all sites including resolving any issues.
  • Define, align and implement Account Strategy.
  • Maintain accurate quarterly booking forecasts.
  • Understand all budget issues at each customer and take strategic action.
  • Confirm all system configurations, specifications and acceptance conditions are appropriate for closing orders.
  • Lead all User Group activity by product as required.
  • Handle system demonstrations by working closely with application engineers and product marketing managers.
  • Run the sales booking process.
  • Manage product issues in the field by working closely with the Account service group and application engineers for solutions.

Experience / Other Requirements:

  • 5 years of sales management experience in a related product area (Material Science)
  • Highly developed negotiation skills for customer interaction and closure of sales and other issues.
  • Excellent, enthusiastic, clear interpersonal skills to a diverse audience is essential to the success of this position
  • Systematic problem solving by working with customers and account team.
  • Presentation skills and creating materials for presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to work in good collaboration within an account team
  • Proficient English and Japanese a must
  • Ability to travel both domestically as well as internationally and possession of a valid passport.

Educational Qualifications:

  • University degree, preferably in a technical subject area
