Job Title: Engineer II, Software

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an Engineer II, Software with a strong focus on work behaviors to join our team in Tijuana. In this role, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to our Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gene AI) initiatives, web-responsive applications, and microservices architecture using the latest cloud and frontend technology. Collaborate with over two hundred Software Engineers, share your expertise, and drive innovation and progress.

• Contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support of solutions for Thermo Fisher Scientific's initiatives.
• Collaborate with a diverse group of Software Engineers to drive innovation and progress.
• Harness the power of the latest cloud and frontend technology to build web-responsive applications and microservices architecture.
• Implement and adhere to Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) such as Security, Performance, and Cost.
• Design and implement databases using SQL.
• Perform unit and integration testing to ensure flawless functionality.
• Document artifacts and processes effectively and explain them to others.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other related technical fields. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
• 2 - 3+ years of solid experience in full stack development
• 2+ years of solid hands-on experience with Java and/or Python
• 1 year with Angular, React, or similar frontend technologies
• 2 years of experience with cloud platforms like AWS and its services
• 1 or 2 years in testing ( unit and integration testing)
• Knowledge of database design and implementation using SQL (Plus)
• Experience with version control systems like GitHub
• Understanding of microservices architectures and RESTful APIs (Plus)
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices
• Agile/Scrum software development experience
