We develop and maintain the Scanning Electron Microscope systems. Our solution is important for our customer from semiconductor industry to identify errors in the production of semiconductor components and advance their research and production, to make them more robust, reliable, energy efficient.

The Position

The Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Tech Lead - Is owner of the BOM structures of the electron microscope. Maintain the BOM, implement new modules, remove old ones. Designs, integrates, tests, and debugs mechanical constructions.

Conduct system-level configuration of mechanical architectures. Fix and solve existing mechanical designs, including hands-on activities to identify and resolve issues during volume and functional tests. Interface directly with manufacturing for product documentation and vendor interactions that support the production and deployment of new or next-generation systems designs. Guide outsourced/inside development activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for system-level configuration of mechanical architectures.
  • Designing sub-modules needed for the implementation to the system.
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques and processes with emphasis on practical, applied knowledge using known policies, methods and practices.
  • Works on New Product Development projects as they transition from concept through release according to internal processes.
  • Provides input during the specification and design phase of new products.
  • Defines and completes test plans for mechanical/ mechatronic components, and records the compiled details.
  • Communicates frequently with project leaders on progress, technical issues and suggest alternative solutions. Also frequently communicates with GTS, OE and manufacturing project members to provide them with necessary input.
  • Coordinates external developers work contributing to a particular NPD project
  • Takes responsibility for the safety (X-ray, mechanical) around the design and designated prototype/system setups.
  • Sets up training and coordinates/trains Manufacturing, Sustaining Products and Service personnel in new product build, test, install and repair procedures.
  • Supports factory and field service engineers with first builds, installs and upgrades of newly introduced systems and modules to ensure proper working order. This may require travel to various customer locations worldwide to support installations and upgrades.

Requirements

  • University degree in a technical field, or a combination of education and experience that showcases the necessary skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with designing and drawing in the 3D CADs.
  • Experience performing ECOs and creating/updating BOMs.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear and concise analysis of data and basic experimental methods, test protocols and procedures Demonstrated ability to plan and resolve issues that involve gaining cooperation of cross-functional, multi-cultural groups and sites without damaging relationships.
  • Fluent in English and local language (verbal and in writing)
