Job Description

Position Location: Newport

Day/Shift (if applicable): Days

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • Resolves equipment breakdowns to ensure production downtime is minimised. Uses problem solving techniques to quickly get to the root cause of problems and provides effective corrective actions.
  • Installation, investigation and repair of both single phase and 3 phase circuits.
  • Fault analysis of relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power circuits (5V to 415V 3phase) and common utility / lighting circuits;
  • Provides preventative maintenance cover for all production related equipment.
  • Installation of new control circuits, modification of existing instrument/electrical systems as requested, to include design, load and Implementation of new control logic;
  • Fault analysis of PLC based systems with control logic modification if required.
  • Perform work you're doing to support objectives of team, department and company.
  • Actively participate in Practical Process Improvement/5S/and other continuous improvement/lean projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring that a clean, tidy and hazard free working environment is maintained to defined standards.
  • Follow all lock out / tag out procedures.
  • Ensure full and timely reporting of all major breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delays or machine down time to relevant personnel.
  • Observes all company safety rules and regulations when performing work. Required to be knowledgeable of HSE standards and other occupational hazards.
  • Works from equipment specifications, drawings, sketches and verbal instructions, Maintain parts usage and repair logs.
  • Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Time served apprenticeship with an electrical bias essential
  • Electrical Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Electrical installation work on both single phase and 3 phase.
  • Must have extensive electrical systems solving and repair experience including PLC programs
  • Knowledge of plastic moulding equipment is desired
  • Must have excellent communication skills, work in a team environment and the ability to train and provide guidance to others!
  • Experience working in a clean room environment would be preferred
  • Licensed (or willing to gain license) to operate all types of MEWP vehicles.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/ONC or BTEC in Electrical Engineering
  • 18th Edition Electrical Regulations
