What will you do?
You will assist with EHS management system implementation, develop, and execute safety improvements and engineering controls, and sustain solutions that enhance EHS compliance, safety culture and the work environment. The EHS Co-Op will partner closely with EHS, operations leadership, engineering, facilities, learning & development, safety committees, and other colleagues who are passionate about our safety culture. The successful candidate demonstrates a sense of urgency, contagious optimism and a "can do" demeanor. They lead by example and hold themselves and others accountable, while maintaining productive and professional relationships within the team. They must be approachable, transparent, and able to maintain a consistent level of energy and passion. The candidate must also be strategic, astute, forward thinking, and possess the ability to encourage and collaborate with others.
• Support departments in implementation of safety initiatives and programs.
• Assist EHS with laboratory inspections, Gemba, and regulatory inspections.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective and preventative measure implementation for different incident types: hazard ID, near miss, injury/illness, environmental, and property damage.
• Actively participate in Practical Process Improvement/5S/and other continuous improvement/lean projects.
How will you get here?
Education
- Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Science, Engineering, Public Health or a related field.
- 0-2 years experience preferred.
The salary range estimated for this hourly, non benefited position is $23 - $27/hr DOE. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
