Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Distribution Project Manager. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead and manage distribution projects on a global scale. We are looking for someone with a proven track record in project management and strong communication and leadership skills.

A Day in the Life:

  • Handle the delivery of all technical and service aspects of distribution projects for clients.
  • Determine the preliminary design of the project and evaluate and understand its requirements.
  • Serve as the internal link within the company, maintaining continuous communication with all departments and advising one-on-one contact with external customers.
  • Initiate the involvement of appropriate departments, ensuring that the work delivered to customers is of a consistently high standard.
  • Attend project meetings and represent the business at kick-off meetings as required.
  • Facilitate customer teleconferences, visits, and audits, providing timely reports and updates.
  • Interact with Quality Assurance/Regulatory personnel to drive problem reports to closure.
  • Ensure accurate translation of customer needs into quotations and supervise and amend the quote and budget as required.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial forecasting and reporting.
  • Responsible for revenue recognition for projects and verification of final production information prior to invoice release.
  • Participate in cross-functional business process improvement activities.

Key Global Project Lead (GPL) responsibilities (if applicable):

  • Handle and lead operational aspects of large-scale distribution projects and project management teams.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for the project.
  • Define joint project goals and objectives with the client.
  • Provide end-to-end project management globally and cross-functionally across all services.
  • Act as the point of escalation and coordination for the customer and the project team members.
  • Define and track metrics, maintain unified dashboards, and report on global project progress.
  • Provide global financial information and lead project closeout activities.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

  • 3 yrs. minimum experience required in project management
  • Logistics/supply chain experience
  • Proficiency in appropriate project planning tools (e.g. Microsoft Project).
  • Proficiency in personal computer applications.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Understanding and proficient use of SOPs required by company Quality standards.
  • Proficiency in basic project management concepts.
  • Knowledge of internal systems associated with projects (i.e. Salesforce, GPMS, Trackwise).
  • In-depth understanding of distribution projects.
  • Strong organizational, planning, verbal, written, and numerical skills.
  • Strong and effective communicator with excellent relationship building
  • Ability to develop strong customer leadership
